Your family learning reading groups for children aged 4-7 and the parents (or grandparents) or carers. Fun fortnightly sessions, which follow a program of popular children's stories, encouraging families to read and have fun together. Sessions run at Flick, Boldon Lane and Jarrow Libraries. If you would like a little extra help with your homework or your school project come along and join our club. The club is run in conjunction with Extra Time Out of School Hours Learning. We have specialist staff to help you find the information you need, book resources and access to the Internet. As part of the club you will receive give always and incentives the more often you attend but you can come along as often or as little as you need.

Readers and writers is a group for 7-11 year olds to help increase confidence and enjoyment in creative writing using lots of new ideas, activities and crafts.

The aim of the group is to make writing fun in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
It is also a chance to share your writing with others and discuss your favourite books.

Readers and Writers takes place every other Wednesday in Flick, Central Library 4.15 - 5.15pm
