Publication Scheme
Structure of the Publication Scheme
For ease of reference the Publication Scheme has been classified into 37 classes of information grouped under 6 headings. The first 9 classes of information relate to the business activities of the Council to promote the Council's organisational plans, policies and objectives. The next 28 classes refer the services South Tyneside Council provides.
These general categories are then further divided into sub-categories to give you a clearer break down of the information we hold according to each class of information. Information that is of a similar nature is grouped together for example, information concerning schools will be found under the broad category of Education.
If however you are seeking information about yourself you will need to make a request for information under the Data Protection Act.
Please note in some cases it is necessary to limit the availability of information within each class of information if it falls within the statutory exemptions of the Act. If information is considered not to be in the interest of the public and is likely to cause harm upon disclosure the information will not be eligible for release. To find out what information is not available it is highly recommended you review the Exemption List before submitting a FOI request Form.
The Publication Scheme only holds current information unless otherwise stated. Once information ceases to be current is superseded and replaced or in some cases sent to the Tyne and Wear Archives. Before using this Scheme it is highly recommended you find out the year the information you require was published to establish if the document exists in the Publication Scheme.
