Publication Scheme

What is the Publication Scheme?

Under section 19 of the Act each local authority is required to produce an information guide called a Publication Scheme describing the information held by the Council. The Publication Scheme specifies the class of information we routinely publish or intend to publish, the format in which it exists and the fee required if applicable, though in most cases the information is free of charge unless otherwise stipulated. To clarify the term “publish” this just simply means that the information may be provided in the form of an electronic or paper document or leaflet.

South Tyneside Council will ensure that all information held within the publication Scheme is updated on a regular basis and reflects information of public interest.
