Meet your community representatives
Elections were held at the end of March 2007 to elect five community representatives onto the Jarrow Neighbourhood Management Partnership Board. The elections were a huge success and the Partnership is delighted with the results.
Your community reps are:
Central Jarrow: Iain Robertson and Jim Robertson
Hill Park and Lawson Avenue: Yvonne Bell
Low Simonside: Ken Tyrrell and Angus Watson
A total of 14 candidates stood for election:
- 7 for Central Jarrow
- 5 for Low Simonside
- 2 for Hill Park and Lawson Avenue
We were delighted to see such positive community support from those who came out to vote.

What do community representatives do?
Your community reps are there to work in partnership with the Neighbourhood Management Team and service providers to make services more responsive to the needs of the community.
To do this they need to know what you think of your neighbourhood so please let them know what you think is being done well and where you think improvements need to be made in the way services operate. We are keen to get more people from Hill Park involved in the Partnership as the area is underrepresented at the moment. So, if you live in Hill Park and would like to get involved, please contact:
