Jarrow - Epinay-ser-Seine Town Twinning

Twinning History

The year 1965 marked the birth of a remarkable relationship between French and British allies. A Town Twinning agreement was sign between Epinay-sur-Seine on the outskirts of Paris and Jarrow.

40 years later, the relationship remains as strong as ever between South Tyneside and Epinay-sur-Seine.

As the relationship between the two partners developed, a range of activities have taken place; from exchanges involving school children and young people, to exchanges of artists, choirs and musicians as well as strong civic links between the Mayor's of Epinay and South Tyneside.

2005 is the 40th Anniversary of the twinning link and a number of activities and celebrations are planned to relaunch the relationship and ensure that the two partners continue to work together and look forward to many more successful years
