Lionel Hehir

Lionel Hehir is Executive Director for Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle.
He is also the chair for Bettering the Environment for South Tyneside (BEST), the Housing Environment and Transport priority theme group for the LSP.
Lionel has ensured that environmental issues cross cut
and impact on the health, employment, education and
area and neighbourhood working agendas. He has also
ensured that the LSP puts environment considerations at
the front of its thinking.
Lionel is passionate about the environment and how we can improve it in South Tyneside, and his contribution has been recognised with an MBE for services to the environment.
